Notd: Purple Oceans

This started off as a quick mani of Avon Violetta from their matte collection thrown on with some topcoat before I ran catch my bus for work. Well I found it too very blah on its on so when I got home which was rather quickly I might add I added a layer of Covered in Diamonds from Color Club's untamed luxuries collection. Sidenote I just acquired the second part of that collection from Ross yesterday. So now I have the full collection I just got find where I put my bottle of Ms. Hautie. I also reorganized my polishes again so their not everywhere. Honestly I think its time for a helmer, melmer, or at least a filing cabinet...

Valentine's Violets #1

So I figured since February is my birth month, amethyst is my birthstone and coincidentally purple is also my fave color. I thought I would feature only violet manis all month long. I had planned to have a birthday giveaway but I'm broker than broke right now. So God willin I will have some goodies to giveaway next month.

Now on to the good stuff. Today's base mani is Violetta from the Avon mattes collection.
By itself its a really pretty purple pleather quality about it. Once again I decided I wanted to do some nail art only free-hand this time. Don't fret today's nail art totally makes up for last night's nail art disaster.
So the polishes used for the designs are CC Resort to Red, CC Covered in Diamonds, Orly Glitz & Glamour, Finger Paints Mulberry Madness, white pumpkin polish, and a black nail art pen. So I hope you guys enjoyed the first edition of Valentine's Violets. I plan to have another one up by Sunday or Monday. Now I'm off to paint my other hand violet as well though it wont have any nail art.

Double Jaded Flowers

Sorry for the blah title but thats all I could think of. Im officially tired of eating thanksgiving food because everytime I eat I get sleepy as all hell. Im tired of eating mashed potatoes ( never thought that would ever happen). J'adore une pomme de terres *french for I love potatoes* Mrs. Brittingham would be so pleased to know I still remember most of my french.
Anywho today's official NOTD which I just got finish doing is had more technical fouls than a football game. First it was trying to find a suitable dark green to stamp with to the base color smudging and smearing when trying to stamp. Finally everything worked itself out and Im really loving it. The base color is 2 coats of Avon nailwear pro in Jade. Two coats were a must because though the polish is really pigmented the formula is kinda thin. My stamping polishes were SH insta-dri in Jumpin' Jade (flowers) and China Glaze Devotion (chains). I really like how the green on green shading turned out but next time I think Ill use gold for the accent color. The images were stamped from the bundlemonster plates *bm12 to be exact*.

Red velvet .....uhmmm cake?

This Red Velvet from Avon's matte polish collection.Im really loving this polish. Practically applied itself and its a one coater. What more can I say.
Turkey day is fast approaching. Im gonna start my cooking tomorrow. Im gonna try my hand a baking a pumpkin pie as well as baking my usual pineapple upside downcake and a carrot cake. Still debating on whether or not Im gonna visit with the fam. But I might as well since Bri will be with her dad's family same as every year. But we'll see.

Peelies and Flakies be gone

Well guys and dolls I sure do hope all is well. Its been hella hot on the Eastern Shore of MD lately. But anyways before I get sidetracked. Though I'm not quite sure whom the culprit is Im going to blame it on the hot weather and water. The skin around my nails is really starting to resemble that of a snake, the HORROR. I had noticed that my hands felt drier than usual but didnt really pay it much mind that is until I got out the shower today. When mid air dry ( I know I was being lazy) I happened to lookd down at my digits and was mortified at the way they were peeling like crazy. Its funny because as a child I loved when this happened, my mom used to tell me it was my summer skin coming in "LOL", as an adult I hate it. So I drenched my hands in Vaseline brand cocoa butter lotion which basically laughed in my face because it did squat ten minutes later my digits looked just as bad. Then I remembered I kept the good stuff in my bag. My holy grail hand creams are Nivea Renewal Hand Cream and Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive. The Nivea is lighter than the Avon but just as good.  The Nivea on its own is not enough to do battle with my peelies and flakies but team it up with the Moisture Therapy and my hands are in hand creme heaven.
